I liked the DaVinci Code, but I was a bit disappointed that it was kind of a regular 'thriller'. I was hoping that, ya I know it had tons of symbolism, but I was hoping there would have been even more hidden meanings. All in all, a good book thoguh.

The only book I've ever read faster than Angels and Demons was Intensity by Koonz. I couldnt put it down. thats pretty much how I was with this one. just had to keep going. started out right from the begining with being great and never stopped.

as far as accuracy, there are alot of the facts that are correct. I've watch documentaries on the topic and they've also said alot of the same things. I love the symbolism and the numeric conections and the mystic with it all. plus you learn the back ground of certain things that you didnt know where they came from before.

reading is going pretty fast with The Da Vinci code. Hopefully I'll have it done in a couple of days. then its onto a couple of Alex Kava books on serial killer type stories.

Oh and I have a jacket that says "Illuminati" on it and on the inside a cross with "revolution" and "free your mind". but my question is, on the sleeve it has the number 79. Anyone have a clue what that would stand for? got to tie into the whole concept, but cant figure it out or find a reference on it in the book.

I prefer Michael Crichton myself, at least he authenticates his claims with extensive biographies at the end of each of his novels. I highly recommend 'Prey', that was a real page turner, with the same level of thrills as 'Angels and Demons'.

I'm a big Crichton fan too. I've read all of his books going back to Jurassic Park. Prey was great and I'm reading his new one now, "State of Fear". It should be required reading for EVERYONE.

I'm going to wait for the paperback. I bought the Da Vinci Code on paperback while I was in Amsterdam, 25% off. People here are always asking me where I got it.

I've read them both, and I also liked A&D much better than TDC. And since I had already read A&D by the time TDC was getting such hype, I have to say I was disappointed when I read it (in comparision to A&D). I'd have much rather seen A&D made into a film than TDC, but I'll still be going to see TDC don't get me wrong.

And Chaser, I've read pretty much all of Alex Kava's stuff and they are definitely good reads. Not sure which ones you have, but the "proper" order (chronologically) to read the Maggie O'Dell series is: A Perfect Evil * Split Second * The Soul Catcher * At The Stroke Of Madness. Her most recent, One False Move, is not part of the Maggie O'Dell series but is a "stand alone". I think you'll enjoy them.
